Women have different risk factors for heart disease, like cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, and heart attacks. Do you know your risk factors for heart disease? There are some things you can do yourself to reduce your risk for heart disease like exercise, eating a well-balanced diet, and smoking cessation (stop smoking). There are also risk factors for heart disease that we can’t control, like family history and age. This is why it is critical to visit your doctor at least once a to discuss your risks for heart disease and participate in proper assessments (like blood tests, blood pressure) so that you can act early to improve your heart health as you age!
